Martin Hughes User Experience (UX) Product Designer
I am a dedicated User Experience and Product Designer who continually strives to improve all aspects of my work. I learn quickly and, I am a self-starter who works well individually or as part of a team. I enjoy being a loyal worker who ensures tasks are achieved on time and to a high standard.
As a designer for over ten years, I have expert knowledge of UX design principles, user research, interaction design, information architecture, visual design, front-end development and graphical applications such as Sketch, InVision, Illustrator, Photoshop, XD and Balsamic. Nevertheless, I am always learning and improving my speed, efficiency, best practices, and knowledge.
Throughout my career I have been a part of many of multidisciplinary teams, working well project to project, but I am more than capable to work independently. I have managed multiple projects requiring different technologies and skills, often allocating my time between these projects. I have worked with writers, graphic designers, project managers, UX designers, web developers/designers, product designers, software engineers, end-users, stakeholders, sales/marketing, often in a highly collaborative environment.
I am confident when prototyping on paper, sketching, collecting user data with tools such as Google Analytics, doing user task analysis, user personas, card sorting, usability testing and improving interactions for users. I have a strong belief in the use of User research, customer development, and iterative feedback loops in all my work. Nevertheless, I am always striving to improve on all aspects of my process, and constantly learning from industry experts and from my UX work.
I have always been a keen problem solver ready to test, iterate, research, listen and learn in order to diagnose problem causes and find the best solution in addition to carrying out heuristic reviews on websites, apps, software and online applications.
My ten years of postgraduate professional UX design experience, technical skills, soft skills, researching, learning, listening, being a team player and collective knowledge of a wide variety of UX-based topics make me the ideal candidate for the UX (User Experience) Product Designer role.

“I have known Martin for a few years and the one thing that separates Martin from the rest of the website experts that I have encountered is that he knows what he is talking about and can do what he promises. This is a very rare thing.”

We are very happy with it and I would have no hesitation in recommending your services to anyone”.

“Martin quickly developed a very intuitive understanding of what I wanted from the website design, from a very vague brief I gave him. He also pushed me further on, bring a lot of invaluable ideas and concepts that I would never have thought of. He made the whole design and specification appear very straightforward, and importantly, didn’t blind me with jargon. This is the mark of a true professional, and a rare skill to possess! I have no hesitation in recommending him to anyone.”
